The Butterfly Hospice Trust aims to provide in-patient care beds in a specialist medically controlled environment for patients with a life limiting illness and provide support to carers, relatives and loved ones.

The Butterfly Hospice Trust recognises that support is often needed right from the time of diagnosis of a serious illness. So: the aim initially is to open a ‘drop in centre’ , because once the first phase of our building is complete it will offer enough space to deliver interim services. These will be frequently reviewed until such a time as sufficient funding becomes available to extend service provision to an in-patient facility.

A full in-patient service has always been and will continue to remain, our primary objective and with this in mind we have entered the bidding process for NHS funding.

Once full in-patient service is provided in addition to nursing and medical care, we will be providing counselling and carer support. Hospices deal with the whole person and spiritual multi faith care by a team of skilled and professional qualified volunteers will be provided according to patient need.

Well being activities such a beauty and personal care, complementary therapies and more practically, financial advice if needed will also be available.

Hospice Care is one of the UK’s outstanding success stories & is now a worldwide movement. Hospices care for the whole person aiming to meet the physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of those of all ages with any life limiting illness. An important aspect of hospice care is that of supporting loved ones – friends and family.

It is a fact that nearly 50% of those admitted to a hospice for pain relief/symptom control return home once their condition is stabilised. The average stay in a hospice is between 6 – 10 days & then the patient can return home to spend further invaluable time with their family.
